Mumbai: An MI-17 transport helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) had to make precautionary landing in Mumbai on Wednesday. According to reports, pilots detected some technical fault with the chopper after which they decided to land at Bandra Kurla Complex, situated in the heart of city.
There was no casualty or any damage to the helicopter during the emergency landing. IAF official are reaching the spot for further investigation. A full inspection will be done before the chopper is cleared for flying once again.
The Russia-made MI-17 is a heavy lift helicopter, which were used extensively by the IAF in relief and rescue missions during Uttarakhand floods in 2013.

A micro-light aircraft of the Indian Army crash landed on Wednesday in Shillong injuring two soldiers.
Defence PRO in a statement said that two personnel of Indian Army were on a routine training sortie from Advanced Landing Ground in a Microlight aircraft. The aircraft force landed at about 0915h on a hillock close to Shillong ALG. Both the jawans were recovered safely by the search and rescue team”.
While there was no loss of life, curiously, even as the incident happened in morning, it took officials the whole day to clarify if it were an Army aircraft or the Indian Air Force’s.

Kolkata: A Coastguard plane today made an emergency landing at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here due to a technical fault.
The pilot was safe, airport sources said.
The pilot of the aircraft, which was returning from reconnaissance duty to the airport where it is parked at night, noticed at 1.30 PM that a fan on the left airplane wing was not functioning, the sources said.
