Pro-Active Safety Initiatives by Aviation Safety India-Precautions Summer and Pre-Monsoon Flying

Greetings from the Aviation Safety Management Society of India.
Winters are almost gone and we are entering into Summer and Pre-Monsoon Season- Mar to May. Summer season particularly in the North and North West parts of India is very harsh with temperatures reaching 48 to 50 degrees Celsius. Flying particularly during this period is quite challenging and demands total involvement of the Senior Management of the Operators, Pilots, Engineers, Technicians, and other supporting staff, Airport Operators, AAI, and India Met Department.
Having appreciated the essential need to refresh the memory of the Operators, Pilots, Engineers, technicians, other associated personnel, Airport Operators, AAI, and India Met Department, about the hazards associated with Summer and pre-monsoon operations, Aviation Safety India wishes to share some knowledge about the hazards of flying during Mar to May and precautions which need to be taken to ensure safe and efficient conduct of operations, during this period.

DGCA CARs and Circulars on All Weather Operations provide very useful and valuable inputs for the various stakeholders. CEOs and Accountable Executives may consider disseminating the gist of DGCA CARs and Circulars to their concerned personnel, ensure adequate training, knowledge, and awareness of Pilots and maintenance staff, and strict compliance with SOPs and other instructions from the regulator.
The Pro-Active Safety Initiatives by Aviation Safety India are intended to complement the various initiatives taken by DGCA to enhance the Safety of Aviation Operations, regularly.
