Subject: Proactive Safety Advisory – Precautions for Summer & Pre-Monsoon Flying

Dear Sir/Madam,

Greetings from Aviation Safety India.

As you are aware, the summer season has arrived earlier than usual this year, and the temperatures are predicted to rise significantly, surpassing previous years’ records. Additionally, the upcoming Pre-Monsoon Season is expected to bring severe weather conditions, including Thunderstorms, Dust Storms, Hailstorms, and Intense Lightning Activity. The weather during this period is often unpredictable, with storm systems developing rapidly, posing serious hazards to safe flight operations.

Of particular concern are the Northwesters (Kal Baisakhi) — violent, fast-building storms commonly experienced in the Eastern region, especially between Kolkata and Patna. These weather phenomena have historically posed a major threat to air safety during this time of the year.

As part of our Proactive Safety Initiatives, Aviation Safety India has compiled a set of essential Precautionary Measures to help ensure that flight operations are conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner during the Summer and Pre-Monsoon season.

To facilitate awareness and preparedness, a detailed Video Presentation on the associated hazards and recommended precautions has been prepared and uploaded on the Aviation Safety India YouTube Channel. We encourage all stakeholders — Operators, Pilots, Aircraft Engineers, Aerodrome Operators, Air Traffic Controllers, and other Aviation Professionals — to watch this presentation and disseminate the information within their respective organizations.

Proactive Safety Initiatives by Aviation Safety India- Free Online SMS Training by Aviation Safety India on 21,22 Mar 25 and Assistance in Conducting DGCA Mandated Flight Safety Seminar.

Greetings from the Aviation Safety Management Society of India.

Aviation Safety India will be conducting a Free  Online SMS Training on 21,22 Mar 25  to enhance the Safety of Aviation Operations in the country.

In addition, to facilitate Safety Awareness among Aviation Personnel and to prepare them for holding Senior positions in the Company and to conduct Audits, Aviation Safety India will undertake the following types of Training at discounted rates.

(a) SMS Training Initial (2 Days) and Recurrent (1 day) . (21,22 Mar 25)

(b) Human Factors Training Initial (2 Days) and Recurrent (1 day) .(18,19 Mar 25)

(c) SMS Training- 5 Days. (21,22,24,25,26 Mar 25)

(d) Proactive Safety Initiatives by Aviation Safety India- Free Online SMS Training by Aviation Safety India on 21,22 Mar 25 and Assistance in Conducting DGCA Mandated Flight Safety Seminar. Quality Auditors Training-5 Days. (21,22,24,25,26 Mar 25)

(e) Lead Auditors Training-5 Days. (21,22,24,25,26 Mar 25)

(f)   Internal Auditors Training-5 Days. (21,22,24,25,26 Mar 25)

(g) Management of Flight Safety program and Accident Investigation & Crisis Management Training- 5 Days. (21,22,24,25,26 Mar 25)

Specific SMS Training including Safety Leadership Training. (21,22,24,25,26 Mar 25)

Aviation Safety India has conducted more than 5000 SMS Training free of cost for Aviation Professionals.

All the operators are requested to use this opportunity to get all their personnel trained on SMS.

SMS training of all the personnel of the Operators will go a long way in preventing accidents and promoting safety.

After the successful completion of the training, the names of the candidates who successfully complete the SMS training will be forwarded to DGCA, and a copy will be sent to the Operators. Those candidates who wish to get a certificate will be provided certificates at highly discounted rates.

Aviation Safety India has also taken the initiative to encourage and help the Operators to conduct Flight Safety Seminar. So far, we have assisted more than 20 Operators in conducting Flight Safety Seminar.
